Linda June Block Files, 64, of Roosevelt, was born October 7th, 1949 in Hobart, OK to her parents Ernest and Ivy Rhea (Parr) Block. She was raised on a farm Northwest of Cooperton, OK and attended Cooperton Valley public school until 1965 when she transferred to Roosevelt where she graduated in 1967. Linda accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord & Savior as a young girl and was baptized at the Cooperton First Baptist Church. She married James William Files January 14th 1968 and he preceded her in death on November 30, 2003. They briefly lived in the Lawton area before making their home in Roosevelt until her passing August 27th 2014. Linda briefly worked Civil Service at Fort Sill, owner operator of a clothing store in Hobart, Farm Bureau in Hobart, Security State Bank in Roosevelt, First National Bank in Roosevelt and retiring from First National Bank in Hobart. Linda was well known for her cooking, decorating, organizational and landscaping skills. She really enjoyed spending time creating the oasis in her yard. She volunteered to cook and serve at the Roosevelt Senior Citizens Center. Linda was an active member at the First Baptist Church Roosevelt where she served on the decorating committee and was very excited to utilize her talents (organizing and cooking) at the monthly community dinner.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband Jim, brother Edward, sister Rosemary and parents.
She is survived by daughter, Brandy Saville and husband Michael of Mountain Park, OK son, Paul Files and Wife Sylvia of Altus, OK grandson, Brandon Saville of Mountain Park, OK grandson, Bryan Garrison of Oklahoma City, OK granddaughter, Erika Buchanan of Altus, OK granddaughter, Brianna Taylor of Arlington, TX great-granddaughter, Lillian Grimes of Altus, OK three sisters: Hazel Roberts, Hobart, OK Myrna Marlow, Crowell, TX Norma Beisch, Loving, TX brother-in-law, Geary Stills, Elk City, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 30, 2014 First Baptist Church, Roosevelt, OK
Minister Officiating: Rev. Tim Tutten, pastor
Burial will follow in the Hobart Rose Cemetery under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home of Hobart, OK.
Family will greet friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, August 29th, at the funeral home.
