Lillie Braun

July 4, 1919 — December 22, 2012

Lillie Irene (Biggers) Braun, 92, life-long Hobart resident passed away Saturday, December 22, 2012, after a short illness. She was born to William Henry and Margaret Jane (Flow) Biggers on July 4, 1920, in the Babbs Community, Kiowa County. She was one of the two remaining survivors of the Babbs Switch School Fire, Christmas Eve, 1924, where she lost two brothers, William and Walter. She graduated from Hobart High School in 1938. Lillie married Delbert L. Braun on December 1, 1941 in Mangum, OK. They were married 67 years when Delbert passed away May 5, 2009.
Lillie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She helped her husband on the farm and at the family business, Braun and Son Implement. She attended Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where she was a past president of the Women's Alter Society.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Brown, Oklahoma City, OK.

Tyler, Nicholas, and Emily Brown
She was preceded in death by her husband Delbert, her parents, five brothers, Howard Columbus, Dallas Franklin, George Robert "Buck", Walter Jackson "Case", William Ernest, one sister, Bessie Mae Garrison, and one grandchild, Amelia Braun.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 27, 2012
Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Hobart, OK

Burial will follow in the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Ray and Martha's Funeral Home.
