Beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother Letha Delores Powell, 89, went home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2020. Letha lived of full life. Besides teaching school for 35 years she was actively involved in her church. She started playing the piano and singing in church when she was 10 years old. Even after moving to an independent living apartment in 2015 she played the piano for the apartments weekly church service. Music was a large part of her life.
Letha was born in Binger Oklahoma on December 23, 1930. She married Arlen Tipton in 1948 and they had two wonderful daughters together. She lost Arlen in 1962 and later married Buddy Powell. They had a good life together working, singing gospel music and enjoying the children and grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren were the apple of her eye. In 2007 Letha and Buddy moved from Oklahoma City to Tulsa to be nearer their children and for necessary help with Buddy as he struggled with his health. After losing Buddy she moved to Country Club of Woodland Hills, an independent living facility, where she made many new friends and stayed until health required her to move in October of 2019.
Letha was preceded in death by her parents William and Sylvia Huddleston, and her in laws Virgil and May Tipton. Husbands Arlen Tipton and Buddy Powell. Brothers Wilfred and Carol Huddleston. Daughter Debbie Tipton.
