Letha Laverne Larison, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, with her son and devoted husband by her side.
Born on January 12, 1946, Letha spent her early childhood years just outside of Gotebo, OK and then most of her life just outside of Anadarko, Oklahoma on the family farm. She attended Anadarko High School and soon after married her high school sweetheart, Lindel Larison, Sr., on December 28, 1961. The couple moved to Oklahoma City for a brief time before returning to the land she called home to, the very farm where she was raised. Together, they built a life and a home, rooted in love, family, and hard work.
Letha was a dedicated mother to three children: Lacresha Jean Larison, who passed away in infancy; Shelly and her husband Robbie Basse, who reside near Hinton, OK; and Lindel Jr. and his wife Donielle, who live in Edmond, OK. She was a proud grandmother to Megan and her husband Garth McSperitt of Chickasha, OK; Paisly and Prielle Larison of Edmond, OK; and a loving great-grandmother to Rory Jane McSperitt of Chickasha, OK. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She spent much of her career at Caddo-Kiowa Vo-Tech in Fort Cobb, where she worked from 1980 until her retirement in 2011. Even after retirement, her dedication to serving others continued as she worked part-time at the local funeral home in Fort Cobb. In 2018, she moved from the family farm in the Anadarko area to Edmond, OK, where she spent her final years surrounded by family.
Letha will be remembered for her strong work ethic, the deep love she had for her family, and her feisty personality. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
A service to honor her life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Fort Cobb on Friday, April 18th at 10:30 am.
Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her beloved daughter, Lacresha, and that her love and guidance will forever be with them.
