Lesley Harvey Schmidt

Rev. Lesley Schmidt, 86, Oklahoma City and a former Gotebo, OK resident passed away February 13, 2014, in Edmond, Oklahoma. He was born March 4, 1927, in Gotebo, Oklahoma to Harvey and Mary (Greb) Schmidt. Lesley graduated Gotebo High School. He married Juanita Jewel Baker on August 10, 1947, in Gotebo. Lesley received a BA at Oklahoma Baptist University, a Masters of Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Ft. Worth, TX, then received a Masters Degree in OCU in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Lesley went to University of Oklahoma and received an Administrative Certification. Lesley has worked several places being a pastor, English teacher, and a principal. He retired in 1990 from Central Elementary in Putnam City, Oklahoma. Lesley is a WW II Army Veteran. Lesley joined Putnam City Baptist Church on June 22, 1958, from Taloga, OK. He served at the Mulhall Baptist Church in Mulhall, OK on December 9, 1959 and returned to Putnam City Baptist Church on January 18, 1960. Lesley was called to Pioneer Baptist Church on April 6, 1960 and returned to Putnam City Baptist Church on January 24, 1965. He went to Tulakes Baptist Church on October 30, 1972, returned to Putnam City Baptist Church on May 29, 1983. Then he was called to First Baptist Church in Calumet, OK on December 3, 1986 and returned to Putnam City, OK on October 25, 1987.
He is survived by two daughters:
Adina Fuchs and husband Wayne, Ronan, MT
Denise Nicholas and husband Tim, Brighton, CO
two sons:
Dave Schmidt and wife Cathy, Edmond, OK
Gary Schmidt and wife Vickie, Minco, OK
8 grandchildren:
Chad Fuchs, Cory Fuchs, Aric Schmidt,
Alysha Dailey, Laura Lantzy, Bryan Nicholas,
Jesse Schmidt and Candace Schmidt.
and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mary Schmidt
and first wife, Juanita on Dec.14, 2007.
