Leland Newton, 85, of Mountain View, OK passed away May 25, 2013. He was born December 21, 1927, in Carnegie, OK, to Harvey and Gratie (Graeber) Newton. Leland graduated from Carnegie High School. He was united in marriage to Delois Davis September 3, 1965, at New Harmony Church. Leland worked for Fort Cobb State Park for over 25 years. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church in Gotebo, OK.

one daughter, Karla (Newton) Colwell and husband, Terry, Mountain View, OK

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Chester, Leonard and Paul Newton, and sisters, Annie Von Orden, Mary Recht and Emma Barber.
Graveside Services: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Alfalfa Cemetery
under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Carnegie
