Lee Merle Lemmon

Lee "Merle" Rhodes Lemmon, 83, of Hobart and former Sayre resident, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in Hobart. She was born August 10, 1929 in Cabiness, OK to Abbott and Alma Merle (Crosswell) Rhodes. Merle worked most of her life, starting with driving a tractor for her Daddy. She ironed for others, worked at the Sentinel Nursing Home, the Good Samaritan Home in Hobart and C. R. Industries from 1980 to the early 90's and finishing her working career at the age of 76 by ironing for others in the Sayre area. She married J C. Lemmon on October 4, 1948 in Clovis, NM and he preceded her in death on January 4, 2011. She moved to Sentinel, Oklahoma in 1966 to Kiowa County in 2010.

Survivors include one son, Jimmie Lemmon and wife Charlene, Mountain View, OK
two daughters, Rita Haworth, Hobart, OK
Lynn Jones and husband, Lance, Bessie, OK
eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild.

Ray and Martha's Funeral Chapel, Hobart, OK

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City, OK under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home of Hobart.
