Lee Gonzales

Lela Mae “Lee†Gonzales was born May 26, 1934, the sixth of seven children, to H.L. & Cordelia (Willhite) Whitehouse in Board Camp, Arkansas. She passed from this life on Wednesday, July 19, 2012, at her home in Anadarko.
Lee graduated from Stigler High School in 1952. She later married Bobby Lee Gonzales on June 27, 1956 in Stigler. Lee resided in Anadarko most of her life. She was a long time employee of the Anadarko Municipal Hospital and later the Physician's Hospital/Anadarko. Lee enjoyed and took pride in her job, starting as a nurse's aide, later an E.R. nurse and scrub tech and, finally, obtaining her phlebotomy license.
She loved spending time with her family and was an avid dancer and enjoyed reading.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Bobby Gonzales, one sister, Florence and two brothers, Paul and Vernie.
Lee is survived by two daughters, Robin Yarnell and her husband, Jason of Anadarko and Bobbie Plummer, also of Anadarko; four grandchildren, Don Williams of Oklahoma City, Jeremy Williams of Chickasha, Rachel Yarnell and Chris Yarnell, both of Anadarko; one great-grandson, Tyler Williams of Chickasha; one brother, Allen Whitehouse and his wife, Charlotte of Albuquerque, New Mexico, two sisters, Faye Gonzales of Alamogordo, New Mexico, and Tat Lawrence of Albuquerque New Mexico; several niece, nephews and friends.
The funeral service is scheduled for 10 A.M., Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at the Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Glenn Alley officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery under the direction of the Steverson Funeral Home.
