Lanya Ann Swanda passed away on December 16, 2023, in Lawton, OK. She was born on August 19, 1940, in Carnegie, OK, to Lewis & Dollie (Burton) Swanda. Lanya attended school at Broxton Public School, Saint Patrick's Mission School, and Apache Public School. She was a colorful character that enjoyed telling "Aunt" jokes to connect with the younger generations of family and friends. Lanya was always upbeat, happy, and optimistic. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and telling people that she was "fat and sassy" when asked how she was doing. She always had a jigsaw puzzle out on her dedicated puzzle table to work on and enjoyed doing word searches and reading. Lanya was always up for an adventure and had enjoyed traveling to most regions of the US with her family. Lanya, a unique and cherished soul, brought immeasurable joy to those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
