LaVonta Verline (Bonny) Bilyeu was born November 20, 1925, to Thomas Jefferson Robertson and Laura Bell (Bradley) Robertson, and met with her Lord on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at the age of 96 years young.
Bonny attended school at Washita Primary, Oak Ridge School, Strong School and graduated from Anadarko High School in 1944. She married Mart Bilyeu, and they had 4 children: Dennis, Alton, Mike, and Verlinda. She later married Virgil Goucher and they had 2 children: Jan and Nita. When she married Virgil, she gained 4 bonus children: Faye, Roy, Kenneth, and John.
Bonny worked at many jobs, but she truly loved working at the Anadarko Philomathic Museum, where she worked for 17 years. She also loved volunteering at the Anadarko Municipal Hospital where she was a pink lady for 40 years. She also sold Avon for many years and won lots of awards.
Bonny was Anadarko's 2005 Woman of the Year, but she was our Woman of the Year every year.
Bonny became a Christian in 1955. She loved her Lord and drew strength from Him daily. She taught Sunday School for 27 plus years, even after having a stroke in 2012.
Bonny loved people! She never met a stranger. She would ask questions until she found some connection somewhere, some grandparent or someone she knew that you were related to. And she would remember you.
