Lavina Anquoe Poolaw,84 went to her heavenly home, Tuesday, December 6th, 2011 in hospice care in California surrounded by family and friends. She was born April 27th, 1927 to Charlie and Frances (Bigbow) Anquoe. She attended Chilocco and Riverside Indian Schools. She was united in marriage to Flint Forrest (Jack) Poolaw, April 17, 1946 in Anadarko, OK and have been married sixty four years. She was an active member at the American Indian Baptist Church in Oakland, California where she was a Sunday School Teacher. Lavina loved to teach and pray for those who had needs. No matter what time of day or night, she would take time to pray with you.
Survivors include her husband, Flint Forrest (Jack) Poolaw, Hayward, CA
children, Alvin and Carlene Anquoe, Lionel Bruce and Daphne Poolaw, Flint, Jr. and Judy Poolaw, Phyllis and Ken Bohanan, Renee and Mike Noriega, Ronald Jack Poolaw
Lori Poolaw and Donald Sovo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Quinton Anquoe, John Frank Anquoe, sisters, Mary Beartrack and Katherine Quoetone, grandchildren, Kenny Bohanan Jr., Randall Reeder and Spencer Reeder.
Services: 1:00p.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Rainy Mountain Indian Baptist Church. Mountain View, OK
Officiating: Rev. Kathy Longhat
Burial will follow at the Anquoe Family Cemetery, Mountain View, OK
Under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Carnegie
Dinner will be served after the burial service at Rainy Mountain Fellowship Hall.
