Larry Dean Riley

July 12, 1949 — February 12, 2015

Larry Riley, 65, Mountain View, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was born on July 12, 1949, in Carnegie, Oklahoma to James and Marjorie (Prophet) Riley. Larry went to Mountain View School. He married Leta Courtney on August 5, 1969, in Hobart, Oklahoma. Larry was a farmer for over 30 years, farming wheat, cotton, cattle. He also cut wood in his spare time. Larry enjoyed playing dominoes and playing a card game call "Pitch". He played in several tournaments playing against Kansas every year, always being the best card player around (according to him). Larry had the exceedingly rare gift of being chronically ill for decades, but still managed to find joy in absolutely all the little things in life, he loved being in the country, farming (including hunting and fishing). He continued to do things until his death with his relatives, but also with the incredibly large, extended family of friends he found in the Mountain View community, who took such good care of him. Larry was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mountain View, Oklahoma.
