Lacey Leigh (Callahan) Green, 40, of Norman, OK, beloved wife of Shane Green passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023. Lacey was born on February 9, 1983 to Edmond and Rebecca (Brewer) Callahan.
Lacey grew up in Anadarko and attended Anadarko Public Schools, where she excelled in academics and athletics. Lacey graduated with the Anadarko High School class of 2001. Lacey's niece, Leighton, is always so proud to point out Lacey's All-State basketball picture displayed in Warrior Field House.
Lacey attended the University of Oklahoma, earning a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations with a minor in Political Science, in 2006. Lacey spent the spring semester of her senior year at OU, studying international politics at the University of Valencia in Valencia, Spain. Upon graduation, Lacey spent a month working in Italy as a part of a rotary exchange program. Lacey loved traveling to Europe and had planned to do so in the future.
Lacey spent the majority of her professional career working in marketing and business development. She had a passion for working with people with mental health and substance abuse disorders. Recently, Lacey's career path had taken her to Integris Medical Center as the Senior Business Development Specialist in their Transplant Center. This was a cause very near and dear to Lacey's heart, as her Mother died waiting for a heart transplant. Lacey considered this job to be her calling and found the work rewarding.
On July 18, 2018, Lacey married Shane Green. Together, they welcomed their first and only child, Brooks Callahan Green, on December 3, 2019. Lacey was so proud to be Brooks' mother. She felt like Brooks was her greatest accomplishment in life. Lacey was also proud to be 'Auntie' to her Niece, Leighton Rebecca Callahan.
Lacey was loved by so many friends and family. She was an inspiration to so many and helped anyone that she could. Lacey was an avid OU sports fan. She loved hummingbirds, which was a tribute to her family name. Lacey enjoyed training for and running half-marathons. She was a member of the Kiowa Tribe.
Lacey leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Shane Green, of the home; her son, Brooks Callahan Green, of the home. Sister, Jenny Head and husband, Darwin, of Anadarko. Brother, Kylie Callahan, of Anadarko. Nieces, Leighton Callahan and Seanna Boltz, both of Anadarko. Nephews, Leondre Head, of Olathe KS; Desmond Head, of Stillwater, OK; Charles Thomas and Alexander Lang, both of Anadarko. Mother-in-Law, Mary Jo Norman, of Pauls Valley, OK.
Lacey is preceded in death by her parents; maternal grandparents, Eugene and Barbara Brewer. Paternal grandparents, Ewing Paul and Sophia (Hummingbird) Callahan. Aunts, Sylvia Head, Judy Laven, and Beverly Palmer. Uncle, John 'Pinky' Callahan. Cousins, Bobby Archilta and Vickie McKee.
The family will welcome guests during visitation hours on Friday, February 17, 2023, from 5-7 pm, at Ray and Martha's Funeral Home, Anadarko, OK. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 11am, at the Bethel Baptist Church, Anadarko, OK.
