Kevin "Bully" Mandrell, 57, of Carnegie, Oklahoma was born on April 2, 1963 to Moody and Mary (Ramirez) Mandrell in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Bully went to be with Jesus on January 16, 2021 at Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, Texas.
Bully was raised on a farm and attended Carnegie Public Schools. Bully worked a spectrum of jobs including: Carnegie Foods, Summer Propane, Carnegie Tri-County Municipal Hospital, Carnegie Public Schools (as both a custodian and bus driver) and Caddo County Vocational Technology Center. He also took care of mowing the Carnegie Cemetery and was very meticulous about his work. In 2019, Bully was blessed to become the guardian of thirteen-year-old Ayden Ingram.
Bully loved his country western shows - John Wayne, "The Waltons, "Gunsmoke," "The Rifleman," and (most dear to his heart) "Bonanza." Bully's favorite character was always Eric "Hoss" Cartwright, and he always lived his life by the principles taught in his favorite shows - take pride in your work, keep the promises you make, and help anyone who needs it. Bully was always there to help no matter the situation.
Bully was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carnegie, Oklahoma and was involved in a variety of church activities. He was a cook at Falls Creek for many years and was always helping the youth program in a number of ways. He was also an avid Carnegie Wildcats and Thomas Terriers fan supporting the activities of his nephews and nieces throughout the years. Bully had a big heart for children and was always there to provide both support and encouragement.
Bully's love for his family, friends, and community was so large that he was always focused on helping in any way they needed him. This was shown in his love for everything he did and all of the peoples' hearts that he touched. He was our family's patriarch and our rock. Bully will be missed by everyone that knew and loved him.
Bully is survived by Ayden Ingram of the home; two sisters, Shirley Mandrell of Carnegie, Oklahoma, Debbie Poorbuffalo and her husband, Lewis Poorbuffalo of Carnegie, Oklahoma; three nephews, Allin McDonald of Yukon, Oklahoma, Aaron McDonald of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Johnathon O'Toole of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four nieces, Torrie Herrera of Thomas, Oklahoma, Macie Hayes of Thomas, Oklahoma, Daja Riley of Carnegie, Oklahoma, Brianna Story of Edmond, Oklahoma; nine great-nephews, Micah, Mason, Latrel, Blake, Hunter, Hayden, Ethan, Parker, and Luke; six great nieces, Mary, Leah, Cameron, Jada, Bela, and Chloe.
