Kenneth Wayne Carter

December 14, 1932 — October 8, 2013

Kenneth “Wayne†Carter was born December 14, 1931, in Binger, Oklahoma and went home to God on October 8, 2013, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was the son of John William and Lula Mae Carter and grew up in Gracemont, Oklahoma. He married Iva Willodean Bradshaw on September 13, 1950, and they celebrated 58 years together. Life took Wayne and Willodean from Gracemont to lots of places in life. They moved from Oklahoma to New Mexico and then back home to Oklahoma and finally back to Gracemont in their final years. Dad was a forklift mechanic, farmer and even worked in the oil fields in the 1950's and early 1960's
Wayne was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Willodean and all his brothers and sisters with the exception of his youngest sister.
Those left behind to celebrate his life and continue on are his children Dorothy (Ed) Stevens of Tennessee, Bonnie Honea of Texas, and Derral Carter of Oklahoma; sister Shirley McLoughlin; sister in law and brother in law, Sue and Gene Fogle, sister in law Irene Spencer all of Oklahoma; the light of his eyes and joy of his heart were his grandchildren Kirsten (Ray) King Jr., Robert Stevens, Chasie (Jacob) McDonald, Rory (Whitney) Carter, Justin Honea, and Amanda (Ben) Buono. In his later years he also loved and doted on his surviving great grandchildren, Kyler, Aaliyah, Juliana and Alana King, Chase Carter, Cole and Lane McDonald, Lauren and Aubrey Honea, Thomas, Lyla and Liberty Buono and Westin Carter. Also surviving Wayne are numerous nieces and nephews.
Wayne was many things in life and loved life greatly. He will be missed by so many and we wait until we are all united again one day.
The funeral service will be at 2 P.M., Friday, October 11, 2013, at the Gracemont First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Gracemont Cemetery.
