Keith Michael Vasquez was born December 3rd, 1954 to John Thomas Franco Vasquez and Delphine Shemayme Vasquez. He passed away on November 24th, 2024 after a lengthy illness. He started school at St. Patrick's Mission then transferred to Anadarko Public Schools where he graduated in 1973. In 1988 he met the love of his life, Herbette Parton, when he was playing in an oldies Band. They got married the following year on April 28th. If anybody knew Keith, knew all he ever wanted to be was a Radio Announcer aka a "DJ". Throughout his career he went by "Keith Michaels". He started out at a small station in Wichita Falls. Worked at several all over Oklahoma including Weatherford, Lawton, and Chickasha. Made a name for himself doing a rock show called Night Rock 98. Found his country roots at KLAW in Lawton. Ended his career at KOOL 105.5 in Chickasha.
For the next phase in his life, the Public Relations job was created for him to represent the Kiowa Tribe. He was responsible to carry on the legacy of the Kiowa Newspaper. He also produced the Saturday radio show called "Kiowa Voices". Almost every year he was the voice and video of the American Indian Expo Parade. Keith was musically and artistically talented. He was self taught on Drums, Guitar, and Bass Guitar teaching his brothers, sister, daughter, and grand children.
He loved his teams. OU Sooners, OKC Thunder, New York Yankees, LA Lakers and the Oakland/ Las Vegas Raiders.
Keith was proceeded in death by his parents, his sister Victoria Vasquez Tsehai, daughter Robin Gayle Gomez and nephew Terry Alan Wetselline.
He is survived by his wife Herbette, his daughter Jennifer James and spouse Camero RedThunder, son Nathan Dale Gomez and spouse Ashlee. Granddaughters Bethany Lynn Daingkau, Taylor Marie Satepeahtaw, Dhani Roe Post, Savannah Joy Gomez and Alexandria Rose Gomez. Grandsons Peyton Michael Post, Caylob Gage Satepeahtaw, and Hunter Rhys Gomez. Sisters Jennifer Faith and husband Lance Littlechief, Toni Pierce, and Maria Elena Vasquez. Brothers Nicholas John Vasquez, Manuel Thomas Vasquez and wife Henrietta, George Earnest Vasquez, and Rusty Traywick. Also a host of nephews, nieces, and grandchildren. Honorary daughter Meredith Sherman and honorary grandchildren TJay Gastineau, Landon Sheffield, and Adriana Manzanares.
