Kathy Gene Herring

Kathy Gene Herring, 51, of Anadarko, was born May 26, 1963, in Midwest City, Oklahoma to Roy G. and Adella (Baxter) Herring. She passed from this life on Monday, July 28, 2014, at her home south of Anadarko.
Kathy grew up in Anadarko and attended Anadarko Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1982. She had two children, Randy and Rotnie and often worked back to back shifts in a diner to support them. Kathy later went work at Hermetic Switch in Chickasha for 10 years.
She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Kathy also enjoyed dancing and listening to Randy sing and Rotnie tell jokes. She loved and collected Betty Boop memorabilia and was a regular donor to St. Jude's Hospital. Kathy was always going out of her way to help others even if she couldn't afford it.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Roy G. Herring, her grandmother, Viola Shadley and an uncle, Gilbert Baxter.
Survivors include, two sons, Rotnie Herring and Randy Herring both of Anadarko; her mother, Adella Green and her husband, Danny of Anadarko; two sisters, Krystal Green of Anadarko and Charlotte Poolaw of Rogers, Arkansas; three brothers, Sammy Poolaw, Terry Poolaw, and Roy Herring all of Anadarko; two aunts, Kristy Randle of Anadarko and Lena Cummings of Pryor; two uncles, Marshall Baxter and Lloyd Tasso both of Kingfisher; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 P.M., Thursday, July 31, 2014, in Memory Lane Cemetery under the direction of Steverson Funeral Home. Condolences may be left for the family at www.steversonfuneralhome.com .
