Kathryn Juanita Compton of Gracemont died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2020 at Corn Heritage Care at the age of 93. She was born Feb. 3, 1927.
She married William Joseph Compton Feb. 27, 1946.
Kathryn worked many jobs in Gracemont and Anadarko, including the peanut plant, Sequoyah Carpet Mills, the Gracemont bank and was city clerk. She was also volunteer of the Pink Ladies at the Anadarko hospital.
She was a long-time member of the Gracemont Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Wm. David Compton and wife Mary Ann of Denison, Texas; a daughter, Janelle Owings of Gracemont; four grandchildren, Kathy Butler, Matthew Compton and wife Ellie, Laura Compton and Richard Compton; five great-grandchildren, Zack, Tyler and Kyle Leonard, and Ian and Sean Compton; five great-great-grandchildren, Benecio Hernandez, and Lakenzie, Persaeus, Evander and Penelope Leonard; two brothers, Don and wife Etta Belle, and Doyle and wife Phyllis; a sister-in-law, Sue Daniels, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her mother, Alpha and stepfather Vernon Daniels; a brother, Jimmy Daniels, and a great-great-grandson, Maximos Leonard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gracemont Baptist Church or the Anadarko Hospital Auxiliary.
