Karl H. Hanza, Jr., 82, long time Hobart resident, passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010, in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born September 5, 1927 in Gotebo, OK to Karl H. and Anna (Herbst) Hanza, Sr. Karl graduated from Lawton High School and served in the U. S. Army. Karl was awarded the FFA State Farmer Award in 1945 and the FFA American Farmer Degree in 1946. He worked many years on the family Grade A dairy farm in Lawton. Karl married Yvonne Scoggins on January 15, 1952 in Lawton, OK. They moved to Gotebo to farm in 1962 and also ran the Hanza Grocery. They moved to Hobart in 1974. Karl worked for Heller Construction and Braun & Son Implement for many years. He loved to drive tour buses all over the country. Karl won Sweepstakes with his woodworking at the Kiowa county fair in 2009.

Karlinda Hess and husband, Dwayne, Hobart, OK
four grandchildren: Shauna Muse and Brent Selle, Missoula, MT
Lisa Wickham and husband, Jason, Alva, OK
Bryan Burch and wife, Lora, Cordell, OK
Thomas Hess, Hobart, OK
three great-grandchildren: Dylan and Skyler Wickham and Danica Burch
one brother: Rudy Hanza and wife Charlene, Lawton, OK

He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne, March 12, 2008 and his parents.

First Lutheran Church, Hobart, OK

Interment: Hobart Rose Cemetery, Hobart, OK
