JW was born August 4, 1941 to Ewell Mac and Orpha (Anderson) Prather and died Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at the Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton, OK.
JW was a sports fanatic. He loved to watch his grandsons play sports and cheered them onto winning. He also enjoyed cheering on the Fort Cobb Mustangs and the OU Sooners.
JW attended the Church of Christ in Mountain View, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bill Prather, Belvie Prather, and Duane Prather; three sisters, Margaret Gilbert, Norma Gibson, and Imogene Monroe; two brother-in-laws, Herb Monroe and Skeet Gibson.
Survivors include daughter, Trenda Phy and husband, Pharon of Carnegie, OK; son, Barry Prather of Lawton, OK; two grandsons, Brennan J. Phy of Carnegie, OK and Brek Phy and wife, Shaylon of Yukon, OK; two great grandchildren, Kasen and Kailor Phy of Yukon, OK; and numerous other loved ones.
