Olive June "Mamie" Smith, 84, long time Hobart resident passed away, Tuesday, November 6th, 2012. She was born August 8th, 1928 at Canute, OK to Noah and Susan (Adkins) Phillips. June grew up at Carter and Burns Flat. She graduated from Burns Flat High School in 1946 and graduated from Hill Business School in Oklahoma City in 1947. She married Jerry G. Smith in 1948 in Cordell, OK. They moved to Hobart in 1953. June listened to five preachers before she went to Sunday School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

To this union two daughters were born, Dorecia and Jerrie Sue. June worked for ASCS for 34 years before retiring. After retirement, she worked part time for Watkins Real Estate and Insurance Company for 5 years.

eight great-grandchildren, Gunnar and Daisha Harris, Hobart, OK
Jett, Jax and Harli Cunningham, Sentinel, OK
Jerra Jo, Mason and Levan Tepe, Lone Wolf, OK

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, December 13th, 2005, parents and two grandchildren, Philip & Kristi and one great-grandchild, Afton.

Funeral Services: 2 p.m., Friday, November 9th, 2012 at First United Methodist Church, Hobart, OK
Interment: Hobart Rose Cemetery, Hobart, OK

The family will greet friends at the funeral home 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday.
