June Kliewer

June (Brumley) Kliewer was born September 3, 1933, to Willard and Leona (Peck) Brumley in Mountain View, Oklahoma. She passed away, Saturday, March 3, 2018.
June graduated from Mountain View High School in 1951. June worked at the Bakery in Mtn. View and that is where she met Leon Kliewer. She and Leon married in Lindsay, California on April 5, 1953. They returned to Mtn. View and lived the remainder of their married life on the family farm.
To this union four children were born: Matt, Julie, Wade, and Tina.
June was a house wife, mother, and so much more. She drove the wheat truck during harvest, had a garden, she was very active in Church, Farm Bureau, and politically.
June was on the State Farm Bureau Women's Committee for Oklahoma Farm Bureau. for many years and enjoyed traveling to conferences, conventions, and taking a few of her grandchildren on the Washington, D.C. trips. She also served as the Kiowa County Republican Chairman for a term.
June loved singing in church. She taught Vacation Bible School at the Community Church in Gotebo for several years, taught Sunday School at the Ebenezer Mennonite Church and taught Sunday School at the Mtn. View Nursing Home for several years.
June also loved cooking at camp at the Pentecostal Holiness Campgrounds west of Anadarko for many years. She had such fun being around the young people.
Her biggest love, next to Leon and her family, was sports. Primarily the LA Dodgers and the Oklahoma Sooners. She grew up watching her father play ball on the diamond, so it was only natural that she would love baseball, but she would watch just about any sport on tv.
June is survived by her four children: Matt and Carla Kliewer, Mtn. View, OK; Julie and Sonny Dixon, Elgin, OK; Wade and Sonya Kliewer, Bethany, OK; Tina Kliewer, Edmond, OK.
Eight grandchildren: Joshua Kliewer, Oklahoma City, OK; James and Aimee Kliewer, Vermillion, South Dakota; Travis Kliewer, Alexandria, Louisiana; Allison Kliewer, Bethany, OK; Peter Kliewer, Pierre, South Dakota; Alan Kliewer, Oklahoma City, OK; Nathaniel Kliewer, Durant, OK; Benjamin Kliewer, Mtn. View, OK. She is also survived by a host of family and friend.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leon R. Kliewer; Parents: Willard and Leona Brumley; Siblings: Joyce Dean (Brumley) and Roger Faihtinger, Tommy and Betty (Jarnagin) Brumley. Grandson: Daniel J. Kliewer.
Funeral Services will be held: Thursday, March 8, 2018, at 2:00 pm at the Pentecostal Holiness Church, 620 Randlett Street, Mountain View, Oklahoma. Interment following at the Ebenezer Mennonite Cemetery, Gotebo, OK.
