June Sudik Hambrick

June 16, 1934 — July 31, 2020

June Sudik Hambrick of Sentinel, Oklahoma, was born June 16,1934 and passed into eternal life on July 31, 2020 at age 86. She was born to Otto Frederick and Elsie Mae Sudik. She was raised in Sentinel, Oklahoma, graduated from Sentinel High School in 1952, then went on to the University of Oklahoma where she received her bachelor's degree in education. She also earned a master's degree at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. For the majority of her working career she taught Advanced Grammar and Composition and served as faculty advisor for both the yearbook and the school newspaper at Liberal High School in Liberal, Kansas. She also taught english classes in Oklahoma City public schools.

She loved to read books, was very fond of music, played the piano for personal enjoyment, and played organ for the Sentinel United Methodist Church for a number of years. She also loved to travelventuring into Europe and Central America and taking numerous road trips within the United States.

Her special joy was her family. She described herself as "a happy grandmother of eleven beautiful grandchildren" and more recently, a great-grandmother of three great-grandsons as well! She dearly loved and celebrated each family membervisiting in person as often as she could, keeping in touch by phone and FaceTime, and sending innumerable texts, emails, letters, and greeting cards to express her love and thoughts throughout the years. (Communication and writing were, after all, her specialty!)

June is survived by her brother Neal Sudik (Barbara) of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas; her sons Robert Hambrick of Boise, Idaho and Brent Hambrick (Colette) of Highland Village, Texas; her grandchildren Austin Robert Hambrick of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Levi Otto Hambrick of Nashville, Tennessee, Nathanael Hambrick (Ashley) of Dallas, Texas, Micah Hambrick (Maggie) of Fort Worth, Texas, Addi Newman (Jeremy) of Highland Village, Texas, and Hannah, Matthias, Elizabeth, Luke, Andrew, and Corban Hambrick of Highland Village, Texas; her great grandchildren, Wyatt and Declan Newman and Mason Hambrick; her nieces, Melissa Sudik (Chan) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Stephanie Scott (Matt) of Garland, Texas.

June was preceded in death by her father, Otto Frederick Sudik; her mother, Elsie May Miller Sudik; and her step-mother Ruth Edwards Stayton Sudik.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the Sentinel United Methodist Church, 503 E. Washington Street, Sentinel, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to MedMissions, 802 Shady Meadow Dr., Highland Village, TX 75077

June will be sorely missed by her friends and family members who look forward to seeing her again in heaven. She assured us before passing away that her heart and soul were fully relinquished to the Lord for His eternal safe keeping. In her own words, "When you get to that point that you really trust Him . . . you'll know it. There's no change of mind, and I thank God for that." John 3:14-21; Romans 3:23-26
