Burlene Walker, 85, a life time resident of Carnegie, OK, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at the Carnegie Nursing Home. She was born August 8, 1929, to Burl and Icie (Smith) Nance in Carnegie, OK. Burlene attended and graduated from Alden High School. She was united in marriage to Loyal "Hook" Walker, May 21, 1949, at Spring Valley Nazarene Church, who preceded her in death February 06, 2009. Burlene worked as a telephone operator in Chickasha for a year. She raised three sons and baby sat for a number of years. Burlene was a faithful member of the Carnegie Church of the Nazarene, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a member of the Sis Club. Burlene was famous around town for her sugar cookies that she took to people for all occasions, whether happy or sad.

three great grandchildren, Peyton, Jaxon and Jake Deel, all of Elgin, OK
one brother, Denver Nance and wife, Billie, San Angelo, TX
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Loyal "Hook" Walker and sister, Joyce Kuykendall.
Funeral Services: 10:00a.m., Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Church of the Nazarene, Carnegie, OK

Burial will follow at the Carnegie Cemetery, Carnegie, OK
