Joseph Lavern Leatherbury, 88, of Carnegie, OK passed away Saturday, February 1st, 2014 at his home. He was born July 6th, 1925 to Joseph and Verdie (Hendrix) Leatherbury in Butler, OK. He attended school in Stratford, OK. Lavern was united in marriage to Lillian Margaret Williams, June 19, 1950 in Carnegie, OK. Lavern loved to farm, bale hay and go camping. Lavern brought up very strong children. He was a great husband, father and grandfather.

Melvin Leatherbury and wife, Elaine, Hobart, OK
one sister, Margret Denker, McGregor, TX
brother-in-law, JB O'Neal, Midland, TX
numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Carl (Bear) Leatherbury,
one grandson, Brandon Leatherbury, one brother, Bill Leatherbury and one sister, Shirley O'Neal.

Funeral Services: 1:00p.m., Wednesday, February 05, 2014 at the Church of the Nazarene, Carnegie, OK
Burial will follow at the Carnegie Cemetery
under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Carnegie, OK
