John Paul Krehbiel

July 11, 1945 — May 21, 2014

John Paul Krehbiel, 68, and a faithful Christian, passed away on May 21, 2014. He was born to Norris and Odela (Meyers) Krehbiel on July 11, 1945 in Hobart, OK.
John graduated from Cooperton High School in Cooperton, Oklahoma in 1963. He attended Midwest Christian College in Oklahoma City and was a Student Minister at Cooperton Christian Church.
John met Judy Roberts at Bible College and they were married in 1965, living in Cincinnati, Ohio, Canyon, Texas, and Amarillo, Texas before moving home in 1968 to begin farming on the family place. There he farmed, ranched, and ran a dairy until 1982.
He then began a more than 25 year law enforcement career by finishing first in his Academy Class. He worked for Hobart Police Department, Roosevelt Police Department, Kiowa County Sheriff's Department, and Mountain View Police Department. He retired in 2007 as a Kiowa County Deputy Sheriff.
In recent years he faced many serious health challenges, receiving wonderful care from many loving Health Care Professionals in Central and Southwest Oklahoma. At his passing, he was living in the English Village Manor Nursing Home
His hobbies included Reading, Maps, Shooting Sports, and Civil War history.
John is survived by his wife Judy of 48 ½ years, and their children Jeff Krehbiel and wife Dawn of Austin, Texas, Justin Krehbiel and wife Phyllis of Altus, OK, Jacob Krehbiel and wife Rebecca of Miami, Florida, Johnna Harrington and husband Tim of Altus, OK, and Joseph Krehbiel of Ada, OK. He has 16 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. His sisters are Elda Lou Harper of New Orleans, LA and Mary Ruth LeLouis and her husband Anthony of Redmond, OR. His nephews are Steven Harper and wife Mary Jane of Amarillo, Texas and Christopher LeLouis and wife Autumn of Pass Christian, MS and Charles Roberts and wife, Rachel, Edmond, OK. His nieces are Vickie Harper and husband Tom Gillis of New Orleans, LA, Erin Culley and husband Thad, Raleigh, NC. He loved his many cousins and extended family very much.
Viewing and family greeting is from 6-7:30 pm Thursday May 22nd at Ray and Martha's Funeral Home in Hobart, OK.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Friday, May 23rd at First Baptist Church, Roosevelt, OK with Brother Doug Henson officiating. Burial will be at Springhill Cemetery, South of Cooperton under the direction of Ray and Martha's Funeral Home, Hobart.
