John William "Bill" Hoenshell, 79, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2020, in Elk City, OK. Bill was born May 10, 1940 in Carthage, MO to Vernon and Nadine (Jones) Hoenshell. He graduated from Jasper High School in 1958. Bill was united in marriage to Carol Ann Worley on June 5, 1959, in Jasper, MO. At the age of 26, Bill was called to the ministry and was ordained July 11, 1971, at Zion Baptist Church in Jasper, MO. He was president of the Carving Club in Pueblo, CO. Bill worked at the Hobart Living Center for 15 years. Bill had previously pastored at Zion Baptist Church in Jasper, MO, Lone Wolf First Baptist Church in Lone Wolf, OK, Greenhorn Valley Baptist Church in Rye, CO, and Gotebo First Baptist Church from 2010 to the present. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.


He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Vernadine Poindexter.


Survivors include his wife of over 60 years, Carol Ann Hoenshell, Hobart, OK
3 Children: Scott Douglas Hoenshell and wife Shirley, Carthage, MO
Crystal Van and husband Greg, Colorado City, CO
Jeff Hoenshell and wife Shelly, Mountain View, OK
11 Grandchildren: Jonathan Hoenshell, Adam Hoenshell, Carissa Yardley, Latessa Hinson, Levi Hinson, Carli Steele, Luke Van, Jake Van, Lori Heller, Jessica Sanders and Stevie Richardson.
16 Great-Grandchildren
Many extended church families of whom Bill had the opportunity to serve.
