Joe Farr

Joe W. Farr, 86, of Mountain View, Oklahoma, Passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016.He was born to Hays D. and Jewel Faye (Van Pelt) Farr, July 8,1929 in Byers, Texas. He lived there until he was two years old when his parents moved to the Sedan community south of Mountain View. He went to Sedan School the first three years before moving to the Star community northwest of Mountin View. He attended Star through the eighth grade and finished the remainder of his schooling in Mountain View. He joined the Air Force shortly after graduating. He returned to the farm with his father until he was united in marriage to Saranell Mitchell on August 2, 1953 in Carnegie, Oklahoma. They farmed until 1958 when he became employed by a grocery chain in Oklahoma City. He returned to Mountain View in 1961 and became employed by Knight-Weidenmaier Department Store. He was employed there for 24 years. He finished his working years with 3M at Weatherford. He enjoyed working in his yard and drinking coffee with the gang at the Drug Store. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 68 years.

Survivors include: Wife, Saranell Farr, of the home.

Brother in Law: Roy A. Mitchell JR, Carney, OK
Sister in Law: Lucerne Knight, Albuquerque NM
Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

First United Methodist Church, Mountain View, Oklahoma

Burial will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain View, Oklahoma
under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Mountain View, Oklahoma.
