Joan Aileen Ratliff

Joan Aileen Ratliff, 93, passed away on October 21, 2023 in Corn, Oklahoma. She was born December 3, 1929 in Wichita, Kansas to Col. Reginald Everett Frizzelle and Marie Elizabeth Philmlee.

Jo married Fred Spunaugle in November 1947. To this union four children were born; Becky Marie, Catherine Louise, Anna Jo, and William Lee. In 1959, the family moved from Albert, Kansas to Mountain View, Oklahoma. She later married Bill Ratliff in December 1979.

Jo attended Clinton Western State Hospital LPN School in 1970. She then graduated from Cameron College in 1979 with a degree in Nursing. Her nursing career took her all over. She worked for Carnegie Hospital, Thomas Hospital, Weatherford Hospital, Mountain View Nursing Home and Carnegie Nursing Home. She joined Heath Watch Home Health in 1983, Carnegie Home Health in 1992, and Elkview Home Health in 1995 as a director until retirement in 2001.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Col. Reginald Frizzelle and Marie Horn (Philmlee); half sisters, Sharon Frizzelle and Patricia Frizzelle; son, Billy Spunaugle, and daughter, Anna Jo Booker.
