Jo Ella Elliott 78, of Shawnee and a former Washita County resident, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2012 in Shawnee. She was born February 19, 1934 in Grandfield, OK and lived there and in Tipton many years. She also lived in Rocky for a few years. After her husband, Joe Pinner, Jr. passed away she attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee and received her teaching degree. She taught elementary education many years in Shawnee and Tecumseh. Jo Ella was an author and wrote poems, a book and was presently writing a book of devotions. She was a devout Christian and loved God and her family more than her own self.

two daughters, Deborah Ann Scroggins, Dewey, OK
Amy Lorraine Corley and husband Monty, Shawnee, OK
five grandchildren: Benjamin Perry, Curtis Scroggins, Rebecca Scroggins, Joseph Scroggins, and Ryan Corley and four great-grandchildren.
Jo Ella was preceded in death by her parents, M. C. and Avoe Myers, both husbands, Joe Pinner, Jr. and Vincent Elliott, 4 brothers, M.C. Jr., Ben, Billy, and Frederick Myers, and 1 sister, Rose Etta Britton.

Ray and Martha's Chapel, Hobart
Interment will be in the Sentinel Cemetery under the direction of Ray and Martha's Funeral Home of Hobart.
