Jimmie Dean Weaver, Jr., 72, of Duncan, OK, passed away on August 19, 2017, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City. Jim was born on July 10, 1945, to Jimmie, Sr., and Rhama (Eudaley) Weaver in Carnegie, OK. He grew up helping his father farm and build houses in Carnegie and graduated from Carnegie High School in 1963. After briefly toying with the idea of farming, Jim ultimately graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State Univ. and went on to earn a Ph.D. in chemistry from Oklahoma State Univ. While doing a post-doc at the Univ. of Georgia, he went on a blind date with and eventually married Brenda Faye Smith on 28 Nov. 1975 in Dublin, GA. Jim and Brenda both worked for Halliburton Energy Services in Duncan, OK; Jim had a long and remarkable career. He was an active member and servant of the Oak Avenue (now Heritage Oaks) Church of the Nazarene. Jim will be missed by all who knew him.
Jim was preceded in the death by his parents--Jimmie and Rhama Weaver; parents-in-law--Ralph and Blanche Smith; brother--Joe Weaver; and brother-in-law--Jerry Akin.
Survivors include his wife--Brenda of Duncan; children--Gina Yount (Bil) of Piedmont; Jimmie Weaver III (Rachel) of Stillwater; Jana Pennock (Brad) of Yukon; grandchildren--Rachel Bohinski (Zack) of Hungtingdon, PA; William and Soren Yount; Ella, Aubrey, James, and Oliver Weaver; and Fletcher Pennock; siblings--John Paul Weaver (Kaye) of Carnegie; Jayne Lee (Lynden) of Edmond; Jeanne Akin of OKC; Joanna Bogle (Richard) of Wichita Falls, TX; siblings-in-law--Cathey Weaver of Hideaway, TX; Marie Darsey (Howard) of Sandersville, GA; Ralph Smith (Kay) of Macon, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and aunts and uncles.
Jim was diagnosed with liver disease, caused by a genetic deficiency, in July 2016. While he was accepted onto the transplant list, he was not able to receive a kidney-liver transplant in time to save his life. Please consider becoming an organ donor so that others who suffered from such diseases may be saved.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider donating to one of the three following individuals. As many of you know, Jim was suffering from liver and renal failure. He was fortunate enough to have the good health insurance and financial means to meet the requirements to be on the transplant list. Many struggle to come up with funds to meet the needs of their children with serious medical conditions. We have selected three children who could use your help:
A 12-year-old cousin of Brenda's, Dylan Thompson, was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis and is currently paralyzed from the waist down.
His family is raising money for rehab equipment to help restore his mobility.

Five-year-old Kynnli Ellis, whose mother babysits Jana's son Fletcher and was incredibly helpful about keeping him during our dad's many long hospital stays, needs a new prosthetic leg. You can find more information about Kynnli and donate to her GoFundMe at

The 5-year-old niece of one of Gina's former students needs a kidney transplant--it was terrible enough to hope and pray for a donor for
our dad. I can't imagine what it's like to need this incredibly expensive, but life-saving, operation for my child. You can read more
