Jewell Layne "Corkey" Mitchell, 81, of Anadarko, OK passed away on Friday, October 30, 2015, in Newman, IL. She was born on May 24, 1934, in Caddo County, Oklahoma to Charles Verdell "Booger" and Lois Jewell (Hallum) Owen. Corkey was raised in Caddo County attending Cement High School. She worked for CR Anthony's and Richie Shoe Store in Anadarko before starting her own business, "Corkeys Casuals" in Cement, Oklahoma. Corkey was very active in her childrens and grandchildrens lives. After retirement, she traveled the country extensively to visit with all who did not live close. Darrell referred to the motor home as "Your Mothers Coach." Corkey was a member of the Eagles Lodge. She was a member of Elderberry Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Bedford White and Dale Mitchell, both parents "Booger" and Lois Owen, 1 son David F. White, and 1 brother Samuel Dwayne Owen.
