Jewel Lee Gunn, 80, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, was born January 21, 1933 in to Thearl and Bonnie (Brown) Ferguson in Binger, Oklahoma. She passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013 at South Ridge Nursing Home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
After attending Sickles High School, Jewell was united in marriage to J.D. Gunn. They lived a military lifestyle, traveling and living in Asia and all over the United States. Finally settling in Dover, DE., Jewel worked as a customer representative for L&W Insurance Agency before retiring to the Tampa Bay, FL area and then on to Chickasha, OK.
She is survived by her two daughters Anneliese (Gene) Carlson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Belinda Gunn of Jackson, Wyoming; son Gerald (Sue) Walker of Yukon, Oklahoma; her sister, Nadine Rhoades, of Noble, Oklahoma, and her dog Tiger.
The funeral service will be held at 10 A.M., Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at the Cowboy Country Church in Chickasha, Oklahoma with Pastor Lynn Walker officiating. Burial will be later in the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma under the direction of the Steverson Funeral Home.
