Jesse Lee Jaques, Sr., passed away on January 6, 2025, in Norman, OK. He was born on June 15, 1937, to Jesus M. Jaques & Juanita Gomez in Anadarko, Oklahoma. When his parents divorced, he went to live and was raised by his Paternal Grandparents, Gomisindo (George) and Susanna Gomez on the farm east of Anadarko. He attended school in his younger years at Roach School east of Anadarko and in junior high he attended and lived at St. Patrick Catholic School in Anadarko, graduating in 1955. After high school graduation, Jesse spent one year playing college basketball at San Angelo Junior College in San Angelo, Texas where his paternal father and family lived. Jesse also worked at his father's restaurant, Taxco Cafe in San Angelo, with family where he learned the business and later went on to own and operate his own cafe, "Jaques Mexican Food" in Anadarko. Jesse enlisted in the United States Army in 1957 as a U.S. Army Paratrooper. He was in the 82nd Airborne, stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. After his military service, Jesse returned home to Oklahoma and worked several jobs before joining the United States Postal Service where he worked as a mail carrier for 27 years, retiring in 1999. Jesse continued to stay active working, traveling, dancing and spending time with family. Jesse married Nancy L. (Anglin) Jaques on June 7,1963 and to this union he was a father to Jaynee Lynn, Jesse Lee Jr. and April Ann. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
