Jerold Randy Smith

?Jerold "Randy" Smith of Cordell, OK passed away peacefully after a long battle with leukemia on January 2, 2022 at the Veterans Center in Clinton. He was 72 years old.
Randy was born in Cordell on October 29, 1949, to Jerold and Claire (Hutchins) Smith. The oldest of seven children, Randy lived in various cities and states as his family moved around the country with the Air Force. He graduated from Wheatland High School in California in 1968. Randy joined the United States Army after high school and served his country during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1971.
The Smith family moved back to Cordell in 1971. Randy held various jobs in the local area, which included several years with the Washita County District 2. He was most recently living in Weatherford, OK.
Randy was an avid reader and history buff who would spend many hours at the library. He was a kind soul who would gladly help anyone in need. He loved his family and friends, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lt. Col. Jerold F. and Claire Smith, and brothers Arthur Joe, Ricky, and Jerry Smith.
Randy is survived by his siblings, Jeff Smith of OKC, Jamie Dumas, and her husband Roy, of Watonga, and Jim Smith, and his wife Diane, of Boston, MA.
Randy is also survived by his special friend, Debra Musick, of their home in Weatherford.
