Janice Gayle Elix

August 30, 1947 — October 2, 2019

Janice Gayle Elix was born to Robert and Naomi Elix on August 20, 1947 in Hobart, Oklahoma. She attended school at Duban until the age of 14. She later moved to Taft, Oklahoma and graduated from Manuel training High School learning three different trades: cooking, sewing and cosmetology in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She attended one year of college at Langston University. She was a member of St. Manuel Baptist church. She later moved to Lawton, Oklahoma and joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and was a member there for 32 years. She was a member of the choir, mission work and was a member of the kitchen committee.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories Seven Children and their spouses: Darrell & Cynthia Elix of El Paso, TX, Nolan Elix & Maria of New Mexico, Antonio & Rhonda Scallion of Wichita Falls, TX, Jeffery & Rhonda Carter of Irving, TX, Larico Washington and wife Shanita, Cynthia Scallion of Hobart, OK and Rhonda Washington of Oklahoma City, OK.
Three sisters: Ella & Ivan Washington of Irving, TX, Paula Hughes & Charles Wallace, and Patricia Benton.
Two Aunts: Pearlie Banks and Juanita Lesley.
One adopted daughter: Tina Maldonado, Hobart, OK
Two special cousins: Elvin and Laura Jackson.
One brother: Tommie Deshazer.
Special niece: Shai Wallace.
Special nephew: Charles Wallace, Jr.
Special friends: Bennie Elix, Katherine Loftin, Shirley Gildon, Hobart, OK, Racquel McGuire, Norman, OK, Regina Matthew, Brenda Reese, Alice Franklin and Sis, Mable Baker of Lawton, OK, Mt Calvary Baptist church of Lawton, OK, and Teresa Toles.
29 Grandchildren
17 Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son. Her father and mother. Many uncles, aunts, cousins and her Grandparents.
