Janice Laverne Bean

Janice L. Bean was born July 19, 1955 in Anadarko to LaVonta "Bonny" Robertson Goucher and Virgil Goucher. She passed from this life at the age of 59 on March 13, 2015, at her home at Squaretop, surrounded by family.
Jan was raised in the Anadarko area by her mother and step dad, Mart Bilyeu. She attended school mainly in Anadarko, with brief moves to Cement and Apache. In 1972, she married William "Randy" Stevens, and moved to Wanette, OK where she graduated high school. To this union was born a daughter, Amy, in 1974. Jan began working as a Respiratory Therapist and eventually moved back to Anadarko, where she worked at the Anadarko Municipal Hospital for 17 years. In 1987, she married Kevin Bean, and they had one son, Hunter, in 1998. She went back to school and earned her Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from USAO in Chickasha, and a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology at UCO in Edmond. She worked at the Anadarko Public Schools and Grace Living Center in Chickasha until 2013.
Jan had a passion for life and loved to travel. Her favorite place to vacation was in the Smoky Mountains. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed painting, tending flower beds, spending time with her family and was famous for her Black Forest cake. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for many years.
Preceding her in death were her sister, Wanda Faye Tallent, of Verden; two brothers, Dennis Bilyeu and Michael Bilyeu, both of Anadarko; and her dad, Mart Bilyeu.
Jan is survived by her husband of 27 years, Kevin Bean and one son, Hunter Bean, both of the home; one daughter, Amy Holdge and her husband Dustin, of McKinney, Texas; two grandsons, Derek and Max Holdge, also of McKinney, Texas; her mother, Bonny Bilyeu of Anadarko; her father, Virgil Goucher of Chickasha; four brothers, Roy Goucher and his wife Rose, of Verden, Kenneth Goucher and his wife Barbara, of Cyril, Al Bilyeu of Ardmore, John Goucher and his wife Pat, of Cedar Lake; two sisters, Verlinda Bilyeu of Anadarko, Nita Williams of Verden; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Bilyeu of Oklahoma City and Darlene Bilyeu of Anadarko; one brother-in-law, Howard Tallent of Verden, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive visitors from 5:30-7:00 Monday at Steverson Funeral Home. A service celebrating her life will be held at Bethel Baptist Church 2:00 on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, with Rev. Justin Doughty officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.steversonfuneralhome.com .
