James William (Bill) Whitlow, 76, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on July 16, 2023. He was born November 15, 1946, at his home in Cogar, OK to Elmer William and Letha Luvina (Morrow) Whitlow.
Bill attended Binger High School and then went into the Army on July 19, 1966. He proudly served his country in Korea until June 3, 1968, in the 3rd battalion, 123rd infantry of the 8th Army. He then remained in the reserves until July 18, 1972. In 1971 he met the love of his life, Linda, in Anadarko and they were married on August 6th of that year. They were blessed with two children from this union.
Bill worked in Law Enforcement for 21 years beginning in January 1972. He served the communities of Anadarko, Hinton and Gracemont throughout his Law Enforcement career. He then drove commercial rock trucks for various companies and continued truck driving for Caddo County District 2 until he retired in 2012. Bill loved classic cars, motorcycles and 4-wheelers and always provided fun riding trips for his kids and their friends......grandchildren, Micah and Ava, as well. He had a deep love for Jesus and was a member of Square Top Baptist Church.
Bill was preceded in death by his: parents, Elmer W. and Letha L. Whitlow; siblings; Alfred (Bud) Whitlow and Mary Sue (Whitlow) Black; brother-in-law; Dennis Wilkerson
Survivors include his wife, Linda of the home; son, James Brent Whitlow & companion, Michelle Jackson-Vess of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter, Kelli Whitlow of Anadarko, OK; two granddaughters, Micah Whitlow of Norman and Ava Whitlow of Oklahoma City, OK; two sisters-in-law, Dian Whitlow of Gracemont, OK and Jayme Wilkerson of Cyril, OK; two nieces, Teresa Matthews and husband Wayman of Gracemont, OK and Lori Wilkerson of Paragould, AR; one nephew, Steven Whitlow of Pioneer, OK; along with many other relatives and a host of loving friends.
