James Richard Slemp was born on October 15, 1953 to James Blaine (J.B.) and Wanda Lee (Davis) Slemp in Anadarko, Oklahoma. He passed away on January 4, 2019, at home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
James, who was known by his family as Richard, was a tool and die maker at General Motors for many years. He also had a deep passion for cars, and enjoyed restoring classic American muscle cars.
