James Frank Silverhorn

James Frank Silverhorn "Haungooah" 63, also known as Beboy or to friends as Jim, of Medicine Park, OK passed away Friday, May 11th, 2012 in Oklahoma City, with his wife Jackie by his side. He was born January 14th, 1949 to Max, Sr. and Vernita (Auchiah) Silverhorn in Lawton, OK. James was raised in Stecker, OK. He graduated from High School where he was well known as a outstanding athlete, and recognized as one of the best in the area. After finishing school, he attended Brigham Young University in the state of Utah, where he received his bachelor degree in Sociology. He lived in Renton, Washington with his six children, before returning to his homeland in Oklahoma. James was a longtime resident of Medicine Park. He taught school at Lawton Public Schools and was also employed for many years with the Old Plantation Cafe and Riverside Cafe. James loved football, and was a huge fan of O.U. He had his own way of talking to people. James was a member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma, and a descendant of Chief Santana and Tohauson. His name sake is of James Auchiah.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Max Silverhorn, Jr., Marcus Silverhorn and Allen Silverhorn, one sister, Elizabeth June (Silverhorn) Codopony, son, Daniel Silverhorn and grandparents
