On Tuesday, July 30th, James Harold Miller of Cordell, Oklahoma, passed peacefully into the loving hands of God. James (aka Jim) is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Norma Rae (née Weickum), his brother Larry, and sister Sandy Cuthbert. Jim is survived by his brother Jack (Laramie, WY) and sister Pam Isabell (Denver, CO). Jim is also survived by his loving wife, of 53 years, Linda (née Larson) Miller, sons Christopher, Troy, and Matthew. Moreover, Jim is survived by his nine grandchildren: Gabriella, Joseph, Sydney, Wyatt, Margaret, Katelyn, Samantha, Noah, and Liam.
Born on May 10th, 1950 to parents Harold and Norma Rae Miller in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Jim lived all over the country. Upon graduation from Chadron High School in 1968. In 1971, Jim and Linda married and moved to Grand Forks, ND, AFB where Jim was stationed during his four years of military service. After leaving the service, Jim and his family moved throughout the midwest, living in Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska and Colorado before settling in Dixon, CA for a number of years. In 2018, Jim and Linda moved to Cordell, Oklahoma where they settled in their retirement.
Jim Miller loved his final move to Cordell, Oklahoma. Often telling his family about his new home, his beloved rose bushes, and the new friends he made at his church. In his free time, Jim loved working on arts and crafts, whether he was creating another of his woodworking projects or of more recent, his stained-glass designs, Jim was always trying out new things to keep his body and mind occupied. Jim loved riding his motorcycle, playing with his dog, or sending out messages to his family, Jim rarely "sat around doing nothing." Jim always had something going on and he loved trying out new and interesting things. He will be greatly missed by his family and the friends that he met along the way.
A celebration of life will be held at a future time.
