J. C. Lemmon, Jr., 82, of Hobart and formerly of Sayre, OK passed away on Tuesday, Janaury 4, 2011 in Hobart. He was born M Hobart and formerly of Sayre, OK passed away on Tuesday, Janaury 4, 2011 in Hobart. He was born May 3
ay 30, 1928 in Cordell, OK to J. C. "Red" and Gladys Irene (Finley) Lemmon, Sr. He started his working career at age 15 years for the Rock Island Railroad. J. C. grew up in Washita County around Cordell, Hydro and Binger. He married Lee Merle Rhodes on Oct. 4, 1948 in Clovis, NM. In his early married years, J. C. lived in Oklahoma City and worked for American Iron and Machine for 15 years. He. then lived in Sentinel for 25 years and was a dozer operator. J. C. lived in Sayre, OK 22 years until he moved to Hobart in the fall of 2010.

Survivors include his wife, Merle of the home

two daughters: Rita Haworth, Hobart, OK

11 grandchildren: Sheila Lemmon, Sandy Jarvis, Jamie Burrs, James Lemmon, Jimmie Dale Lemmon, Jr.
Linette Ballew, Wynona Tointigh, Ronita Dodson, Jerrett Jones, Thomas Jones,
Casey Jones
15 great-grandchildren
Numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Roy and Paul and 3 sisters: Beulah, Edith and Marie
and a son-in-law, Rev. Milton Haworth.

Funeral Services: 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 7, 2010
Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Hobart, OK

Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, OK under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home of Hobart, OK.
