James Daniel Kindblade, 94, of Lawton, OK passed away May 01, 2013 at Southwestern Medical Center, Lawton, OK. He was born to Harry and Amelia (Hetzke) Kindblade October 13th, 1918 on the Kindblade ranch southwest of Carnegie. In 1919 his parents moved their family to an eighty acre farm in Oklahoma City, located three miles south of main street of Capital Hill. James's education began in a one room school, Praire Queen. After completing the eighth grade, he attended Capital Hill High School. His favorite subjects in school were wood working and agronomy that led to his gardening and wood working ability throughout his life. He married Waneta Hewes who preceded him in death December 08, 1992 after a twelve year battle with cancer. In 1951 he was employed by the Kimbell Milling Company, and was put on the road for Kimbell until 1960. James moved to Purcell in 1961 and was a partner in the Chevrolet Agency for three years. In 1968 he opened Kindblade Chrysler. James was very active in his community. He was the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club President, served on the City Council for six years, and was also the Mayor for two years and also the church treasurer. He was County Commissioner for five years, and a member of the Carnegie Masons and received a fifty year pen. He was untied in marriage to Lois Giles Scott, a longtime friend, November 26, 1993 in Carnegie, OK. They served as Tag Agents for three years and also did Real Estate. They moved to Lawton, OK in October of 1998.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Waneta, brother, John Kindblade, sister, Pauline Golliher.
Funeral Services: 11:00a.m., Saturday, May 04, 2013 at the United Methodist Church, Carnegie, OK.
Burial will follow at the Carnegie Cemetery
under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Carnegie
