Jackie Ray Hymer a lifetime Cordell resident was born March 5, 1959, and left his earthly home February 18, 2019 at the age of 59 surrounded by family. Jackie was raised in Cordell and Graduated from Cordell High School in 1977. Jackie was enlisted in The United States Air Force and was waiting to leave when he had his accident. He attended SWOSU and received his Bachelor's Degree IN 1985. Jackie was a Bull and Bareback Rider and excelled in the Rodeo Arena until his accident. Jackie never let his disability stop him, he bucked hay, built fence and helped his dad farm. He loved to hunt and to be outside. In Jackie's spare time he started his own Taxidermy business and spent countless hours doing custom mounts.
Jackie married the love of his life Tana Strutton, November 29, 1985, in Cordell. Jackie was the Dispatcher for the Cordell Fire Department for 22 years. In 2016 he transferred to the City Office as the Safety Coordinator and Customer Service Representative. Everyone love to be greeted with his smile and friendly Hello.
Jackie was preceded in death by his mother June Hymer.
Jackie is survived by Ex-wife: Tana Strutton Fletcher, son Keegan Hymer and Nicholette Lauzon of Albany, New York. Daughters Kira and Dakota Ogle of Mustang, OK; Ashton Hymer and Dustin Elizondo of Corn, OK; Georgia and Garret Lawson of Bessie, OK; Five Grandchildren Kaedan Mosier, Ruger Elizondo, Gatlin Lawson, Alexander Hymer and Knox Ogle, they were the light of his life. His father Lonnie Hymer of Cordell; Brother Jerry and Nan Hymer of Edmond, OK; Sisters Sandy and Don Bartlett of Cordell and Kathy Oliver of Cordell; Several nieces and nephews and a host of dear family and friends that will miss him dearly.
Funeral: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 23, 2019
