J. W. Craddock

January 18, 1943 — November 9, 2013

J.W. Craddock, 70, of Apache, was born January 18, 1943 near Anadarko, Oklahoma to Van Edwin and Lucille Marie (Archer) Craddock. He passed from this life on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at his residence south of Apache, Oklahoma.
Jay left home at a young age. He was a good man and a hard worker. In 1975, at the age of 32, he gave his life to the Lord. His enthusiasm for fun and life didn't fade; it was redirected. He loved to share his faith, he loved playing and telling jokes, loved to sing and play his guitar, fix old cars, and loved to fish but most of all he just loved. He was a good, loving father and husband and always put family first.
As a young man Jay learned the craft of telephone cable splicing. Even more than a way to provide for his family, he considered his work to be an art and those he worked for and with would agree. If it wasn't perfect he wasn't finished. He took much pride in his work and was greatly admired by his peers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Van and Lucille; 3 brothers, Leonard, Reginald, and Lonnie; and 1 sister, Ada.
Survivors include his wife Viola of the home; 6 children; Sheila and her husband Tony Mayer of Cyril, Ok., Douglas and his wife Sherry Craddock of Ft. Cobb, Ok., Angela Rose Cary of Oklahoma City, Ok., Lou Ann and her husband Chase Wright of Monticello, Wis., Kevin and his wife Janice Olinger of Atoka, Ok., and Rodney Craddock and fiancee Erin Frazee of Montgomery, Tx. 14 grandchildren; Madi, Makenzie, Justin, DJ, Krista, Brittany, Logan, Quintin, Jaxon, Brett, Whitney, Shelby, Tara, and Tyson, 14 great grandchildren; Joshua, Mike, Autumn, Winter, Elijah, Abby, Aubrey, Desteni, Jaden, Dlain, Levi, Talli, Alysa, and Charlee; 5 brothers; Onis and his wife Peggy of Greenville, Ohio, Paul and his wife Carolyn of Napoleon, Ohio, David and his wife Gay of Tampa, Florida, Dan and his wife BJ of Ft. Cobb, Ok., Larry and his wife Samie of Anadarko, Ok., and Joe and his wife Debbie of Binger, Ok., and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at the Bethel Baptist Church in Anadarko with Pastor Clay Hicks from Erin Springs Baptist Church in Lindsey, Ok. officiating. Burial will follow in the Verden Cemetery in Verden, Ok. under the direction of the Steverson Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www. steversonfuneralhome.com.
