J. A. Armitage

J.A. Armitage Jr. 93, of Mountain View passed away at the Clinton Veterans Center on October 4, 2015. He was born in Cloud Chief on September 24, 1922 to J.A. and Nellie (Mealor) Armitage. He was a farmer in the Mountain View area all of his life. He married Helen Faye Morris on November 14, 1942. To this union, 2 sons were born. On December 15 1942, he went into the United States Army stationed at Fort Sill. J.A. was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mountain View.

4 grandchildren, Michael and wife Stacey Armitage of Yukon, OK
Carrie and husband Tom Adkins of Yukon, OK
Michelle Armitage Nisbett of Oklahoma City, OK
Nicole Armitage of Oklahoma City, OK
great grandchildren, Dylan, Nicholas and McKenzie Armitage, Bryson Whisenant, Blake and Delaney Nisbett, Tyler and Bailee Adkins.
1 brother, Bob and wife Louise Armitage and son Robert of Chino, CA
and longtime friend, Elma Reta Nix
plus a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen Faye, his son Jerry Don Armitage, 1 brother Bill Armitage and 1 sister, Golda Faye Simpson and grandson, Randy Nisbett.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Mountain View, OK. Burial will follow at the Sappington Chapel Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Ray and Martha's Funeral Home in Mountain View, OK.
