Iva Dell Baskett

Iva Dell (Arganbright) Baskett, 78, Cooperton, OK passed away on Friday, December 18, 2015, in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born the 4th of 8 children to Edna May (Eaton) and Ora Rueben Arganbright on August 5, 1937, in Geary, OK. When she was six, her family moved to a farm at Lake Valley, OK, where she graduated high school as Valedictorian of the Class of 1955. Iva Dell met the love of her life, Ronald Larry Baskett, in the cotton patch on the Arganbright farm. They married on June 17, 1956, in Lake Valley, OK, and moved to the Cooperton community where they raised 3 children. They were blessed with Ronald Dean, Iva Denise and Larry Don. Iva Dell loved her family, life, and her Lord Jesus Christ. When she wasn't busy running the Cooperton Valley Laundry, you might find her behind the wheel of a rock truck, painting landscapes, or crafting with friends. Teaching crafts at Vacation Bible School and teaching Sunday School was another passion of hers, as well as gardening and feeding her birds.

She is survived by her one daughter, Iva Denise McAskill and husband Tom, Altus, OK; two sons, Dean Baskett, and Larry Baskett, Cooperton, OK; five grandchildren, Terri Ann Wathen and husband Lesley, Altus, OK; Tracy Lynn McAskill, Medford, MA; Cody Carl McAskill and wife Genise, St. Louis, MO; Devon Reigh Morrison, Island of Oahu, Hawaii; and Dylan Luke Baskett, Asher, OK; five great grandchildren Kelli Elizabeth Howeth, James Ryan Howeth, Benjamin Cooper Blackwell and Jonathan and Jasper Wathen; two sisters, Wanda McDaugale, Cordell, OK, and Rosa Smith, Agra, OK; one brother Leland Arganbright, Cordell, OK; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends and her in-laws who were just like brothers and sisters.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald, one granddaughter Sara Lynn Baskett, sisters Luella Bollinger, Betty Bradstreet and two brothers Oran Arganbright and Bill Arganbright.

Iva Dell was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
