Inez Christenberry

Inez Christenberry, 80, of Clermont, Florida passed away on July 1, 2020 at her home with family by her side.
Inez was born in Snyder, Oklahoma to A.P. and Geneva McPheeters on December 1, 1939. She lived in Snyder until the 4th grade and then moved to Granite, Oklahoma where she lived with her parents until she graduated high school in 1958. She then went on to attend 2 years of college in Weatherford, Oklahoma. As a young child she enjoyed fishing with her dad, using a cane pole he hand-made just for her. Inez also had a love for cooking and was always making something tasty for family and friends, which we all loved and appreciated. A family favorite was her "Inez-chiladas"(enchiladas) and her homemade cinnamon rolls, among other delicious things she would cook! She had a passion for serving others and never met a stranger that did not become her friend. She enjoyed serving at the Family Christian Center Church with her neighbors and attended weekly services with her family at Real Life Christian Church in Clermont. Inez devoted her life to being a mother and grandmother, putting her children and grandchildren's needs before her own. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.


Inez is survived by 4 children:
Steve Montgomery and wife Raylene of Westville, Oklahoma
Susan Finley of Clermont, Florida
David Winfrey and wife Debbie of Hobart, Oklahoma
Chrystal Winsey and husband Chris of Clermont, Florida
5 grandchildren: Shawn Montgomery of Louisburg, Kansas; Samantha Finley of Clermont, Florida; Josh Schmitt and son Leo of Louisburg, Kansas; Heather Finley of Clermont, Florida; and Hannah Winsey of Clermont, Florida. Inez also had extended grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a baby boy, Shawn; and 2 brothers, Kenneth and Everett McPheeters.

A celebration of life will be held at Ray & Martha's Funeral Home in Hobart, Oklahoma on Saturday, July 25, 2020 from 10:00am - 11:00am.
