Howard Lee Hollowell, 85, was born August 15, 1927, in Anadarko to Joseph William and Ruby (Brasier) Hollowell. He passed from this life on Sunday, December 23, 2012, at Physician's Hospital in Anadarko.
Howard was raised and attended School in Anadarko and graduated with the Class of 1943. He and his father then opened a Western Auto Store for 3 or 4 years. Upon the sale of the business, Howard went to work for the United States Postal Service as a mail handler from which he retired in 1988. He then drove busses for Anadarko Public Schools and the First Baptist Church until failing health caused him to fully retire.
Howard enjoyed raising a garden. When the children were younger, he loved to take them hunting and fishing. Howard also loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending church functions.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one son, David Hollowell and one brother, Kenneth Hollowell.
Survivors include three sons, Kent of Granite, Craig and his wife, Michelle of Alaska and Kevin and his wife Stacy of Anadarko; one daughter, Sheryl Henry and her husband, Dan of Moore; fourteen grandchildren, Jeremy and his wife Amy, Hanna, David, Ashley, Jack, Sydney, Joseph, Zackery, McKenzie, James David, Tiffany, Haley, Chelsea and Seth; fourteen great grandchildren; one sister, Lillian Lyon and her husband, Clifford of Anadarko; other nieces, nephews and friends.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2 P.M., Saturday, December 29, 2012, in the Memory Lane Cemetery with Pastor Mike Allred officiating.
