Homer Wayne Dawkins, 46, of Gracemont, was born August 7, 1965, in Oklahoma City, to Ronald and Ruby(Williams) Dawkins. He passed from this life on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Integris Hospital in Yukon.
Wayne attended Star-Spencer Schools. After he became a truck driver and later went to police academy and became a police officer in the Town of Binger. Wayne later worked as an officer in Blanchard, Gracemont and Anadarko. He began his employment for the Caddo County Sherriff's Office as a D.A.R.E. officer and then as deputy (CA-34) until his untimely passing on Thursday.
Wayne had many interests including: Fremasonry (in which he had attained his 32nd Degree in the Scottish Rite), Tae Kwon Do( where he earned a 2nd Degree Black Belt), mud bogging, traveling and most of all, going to Branson, Missouri with his family.
His dreams were interupted by his and his loved ones failing health. He will be sorely missed.
Wayne was preceded in death only by his grandparents
Survivors include his wife, Sharen, one daughter, Ashley Kay, two sons, William Blaine and Colton Wayne all of Gracemont; his parents, William and Ruby Dawkins of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Vera Searle and husband, Dannie of Mustang and Susan Olmstead and husband, Steve of Hinton.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Canaan Baptist Church in Cogar. Viewing wil be from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. on Monday and from 9 A.M. until Noon on Tuesday.
